Gluconolactone belongs to a group of organic acids with many OH groups, also known as PHAs (polyhydroxy acids). This product is obtained by oxidizing glucose, allows for a much higher concentration in therapeutic products, has a much higher level of safety than commonly used AHAs (glycolic, lactic, citric acids), and is also suitable for sensitive skin.
