How laser hair removal works:

The operation of the laser is based on the phenomenon of selective photothermolysis. The laser light is absorbed by a specific wavelength of 808 nm and a specific chromophore (photoacceptor), in this case it is melanin, i.e. the pigment present in hair follicles and epidermal melanocytes. The selectively absorbed melanin energy damages the hair structures responsible for its nourishment and growth. The result of this process is hair loss and destruction. This phenomenon is most effective for dark hair that is in the phase of active growth.

The hair growth cycle consists of three stages:

Anagen
The first phase - Anagen - is a period of intense hair growth.

Catagen
The second phase - catagen comes after anagen. This is the period when the hair goes into a state of rest. During the catagen process, the hair follicle dies.

Telogen
Phase Three – Telogen is the final phase in which the hair is prepared to fall out. At the end of the telogen phase, the hair follicle enters the anagen phase again and thus the whole cycle begins again.
